At the local, state, federal, and international level, the American Montessori Society seeks to advance quality Montessori education through public policy.

We work in a variety of ways to inform and influence policymakers on issues related to education and the well-being of children and families.

Montessori Public Policy Initiative

Through the Montessori Public Policy Initiative (MPPI), the  American Montessori Society and the Association Montessori International/USA  are working collaboratively to communicate, influence, and participate in policy developments. We believe that by sharing a common voice with our AMI/USA colleagues, the entire Montessori Movement will be strengthened. 

The United Nations

AMS is proud to be recognized by the United Nations as an associated non-governmental organization (NGO), a connection that opens new worlds to Montessori educators and learners and gives voice to Montessori with groups from around the globe.
